For use in cases of loss of skin pigmentation, from light spots to complete discoloration (achromias), as well as in processes that require a deeper
tan.
Vitiligo is the most important cause of skin depigmentation.
Novitil is harmless, it does not cause allergies or irritations, and can be used by children, pregnant women, and the elderly.
Apply the gel twice a day, and rub it gently using the fingertips on the affected areas (white patches). These areas are then to be exposed to direct sunlight (recommended), once a day. Increase sun exposure 5 minutes every day until reaching 30 minutes. Regular use is strongly emphazied. Only depigmented areas need sunlight exposure. The rest of the body can be covered. Use sunglasses to protect your eyes.
Alternatively, when it is not possible to take the sun, the areas with white spots could be exposed to infrared light, from a distance of 18" to 20" (45 to 50 cm), for half an hour, after each application. This should always be combined with a sufficient amount of sunlight exposure.
Regular use of Novitil may be combined with an artificial source of Ultraviolet (UV) light (instead of sunlight exposure). The benefits are more complete results and shorter duration of treatment (decreasing amount of UV light, and risk of side effects). Artificial ultraviolet light should only be used following directions from someone who is appropriately qualified, and has experience regarding its use in cases of depigmentation. UV light B (UVB) and UVA ("tanning beds" or sunlamps) are the main types of artificial UV light.
Avoid washing the skin where Novitil was applied for at least 2 hours.
Keep the product in a dry, cool place, out of direct exposure to the light.
